If you’ve gone through the event planning process before, you know that it’s always important to incorporate special elements that will make your event memorable. These days, people are never without their smartphones; everyone is constantly documenting their lives through photos, video, and ultimately on social media.

Social media platforms like Snapchat offer the ability to take candid content, and share it with friends and family. Snapchat Geofilters are a more recent addition to Snap, and add a graphic overlay on your image or video before you send it off to your Snap friends. They’re exclusive to the Snapchat platform, but the photos and videos can be saved to your camera roll with the filters to look back on or share after the event. These filters are ideal for special events that you will want to remember for years to come.

What is a Custom Filter?

There are a variety of different products that we offer at Geofilter Studio. Custom filters are exactly what you would expect, they are a fully customized filter that our design team will personalize.

After your order is placed, our account management team will look it over and make sure no further clarification is needed before sending it off to the design team. When placing an order, you can add photos for inspiration (event invitation, decor, etc.) and let us know if you have a color scheme, or theme in mind. If you can dream it, we can draw it!

Once the design has been completed, we’ll send it off to you! We want to make sure everyone loves their filter; if there’s something you would like to change, we’re happy to accommodate you. In order to ensure there is enough time for revisions, please place your order a few days in advance of your event. If you place a rushed order (within 48 hours of the event start time) there might not be time to make revisions.

After the design has been completed to your satisfaction, our account management team will then submit the filter to Snapchat! We will send you a final confirmation email which will include the location of the filter along with the date and time that the filter will be active.

Occasionally people will attempt to create a Snapchat filter themselves, however, it’s much more difficult to create a design if you don’t know how to properly use design software. It’s much more time consuming trying to figure it out yourself, without the proper experience, starting and finishing a custom filter can be a long and complicated process.

Additionally, getting your filter approved by Snapchat can be an ordeal in and of itself. There are strict guidelines set by Snapchat, which prohibits certain filters from being approved. While it’s true that a customized filter is more expensive than a template filter, there are budget friendly options available! Once you’ve determined your budget, check out the variety of options that we have available. Custom text filters are our most affordable option as compared to a more detailed filter which includes imagery or a cartoon.

If you’re a planner, and know what you want in advance, this will save you more money! Rushed orders are more costly, as it involves our team prioritizing your order to complete it in time for your event. We can complete a rushed order the day of your event, as long as it doesn’t involve a cartoon; we need extra time for those!
